Introduction
Good Faith Collaboration: The Culture of Wikipedia, by Joseph Michael Reagle Jr., aims to add to the growing body of scholarship that examines the unique online community and culture of Wikipedia (the free, universal, editable online Encyclopedia). Reagle Jr. provides a historically informed ethnography of Wikipedia in an effort to not only clarify the inner-workings of Wikipedia, but also to draw parallels to other massive, universal reference projects that were deemed revolutionary at one time. As such, this text is not exclusively about Wikipedia, but also delves into how knowledge is created, what collaboration is, and what it means to be an "open" reference work.
